I am a bit late jumping on the ANN7 bandwagon, but as they say better late than never… For those of you who have been living under a rock with me the last few weeks, ANN7 is a new 24/7 South African news channel on DSTV dedicated to bringing local and international news to South Africans. I am sure that you must have seen some of their billboards next to the highway advertising them as the "people choice" when it comes to news and current events, it is pretty hard to miss since the advertisements were plastered pretty much everywhere in the country. They boldly claimed that they would be the next best thing since sliced cheese.
This shinning beacon of 24/7 news was the brain child of the Gupta family and our government the ANC. The very
same family who abused our taxpayer's money to host a lavish wedding in our country, and landing a private jet on a military airbase without any permission. And when we complained as a public about it, we were told by Atul Gupta that we should be great-full for
the families investment in South Africa…really?! But it comes as no surprise that the ANC wanted to us ANN7 as its mouth piece, 3 days ago Rajesh Sundaram resigned as the consulting editor at ANN7
after making claims that ANN 7 was going to be pro ANC.
The poor guy fled the TV station convinced that after what he said that the Guptas send some of their personal body guards to "take care" of him. Not that any of this surprises me at all considering the fact that the corrupt ANC government and the Guptas are deep inside each other's pockets. So now that we know where this 24/7 news channel came from, we can understand why this latest venture between the ANC and the Guptas has turned into such a train wreck. Or should I say that the mediocrity that makes ANN7 such a great piece of entertainment also makes it entertaining for all the wrong reasons.
So you might ask what is this all about really after reading my wall of text, well if you don't watch the video below. That is if youtube has not removed it because of copyright claims by Aiplex Software Pvt Ldt who coincidently is a Indian company contracted by the MPAA to deliver copyright notices to websites that they deem violate copyright laws. Or rather they were contacted by the Guptas to remove any of the bloopers, that might show their new 24/7 news channel in a bad light. And once again no surprise there considering the type of people we are dealing with here.
