If my preview of Undead Labs' "State of Decay" had you excited about the open world zombie game, then the wait to get your hands on it is almost at an end: "State of Decay" will be hitting the Xbox 360 this Wednesday, June 5.
While not exactly an easy game to pin down, the ambitious game might best be summed up as "Grand Theft Zombie" albeit with an emphasis on developing player character skills while also fortifying base camps for other survivors. One challenge of providing an accurate impression of "State of Decay" in my preview was that the game resisted easy categorization across a (relatively) short 4 or five hour playthrough (which didn't quite expose all of the game's interconnected systems).
Undead Labs is still working on the PC version of "State of Decay," they have yet to provide a firm release date on that port.
