Metal Gear Rising: The red headed step child of the series Apr 5th 2013, 22:14 Quote: I've never seen a game that so many reviewers actively digged into and gave bad reviews because they failed to understand the games underlying mechanic. But I cannot really blame them for that, I had the very same issues as some of these reviewers had until I realized something. Metal Gear Rising is an action game yes, but it should not be played as an action game, not like Dynasty Warriors or DmC my personal favourite series in the action genre. Sounds funny doesn't it, let me try and explain it a bit better. I was trying to play the game like one of the Devil May Cry games, no matter how flamboyantly I played, no matter how lengthy my combos were I always got my ass kicked. I almost got so frustrated that I rage quite the game, late last evening after being stuck in the same part of the game for almost an hour.
