Just before the preview embargo breaks tomorrow morning, Ubisoft has unveiled the next chapter in the Assassins/Templars war complete with pirates, high-seas adventure (and an unfortunate visual tied to the word "crevice"). Plus, "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" gets an October release date.
The trailer introduces us to new Assassin Edward Canway (I'm sure I'll have to correct that spelling when the official announcement goes live tomorrow), a legendary pirate who's impressed even the great and terrible Blackbeard, apparently. The cinematic trailer doesn't hint at any specific changes in gameplay (although it might be neat to execute duel-wield gun takedowns, maybe), but I would feel confident in saying that the action has moved from Revolutionary War America to the Caribbean.
"Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" will be available on October 29th for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U with a planned PS4 release (and one for whatever Microsoft's next big thing turns out to be).
