Mod Note (Andy): very happy to introduce our newest blogger SquaredFractals

What is your current job title and a one sentence description of your primary job responsibility? Summer Investment Banking Analyst. I spend most of the day finding comps, creating financial models, making executive summaries or decks.

What are previous positions you have held and how many years of experience do you have? I have a year as stock broker, a year as a municipal bond trader at a "hedge fund" (there was no hedging involved) and as a spring intern as an IB analyst.

What was the most useful thing you learned in ugrad that you apply in your current position? I was social chair of my fraternity. It involved talking to Fortune 500 companies to sponsor parties, I spoke to Presidents of Marketing and even CEOs of companies. Learning how to talk to people in business has been the most useful thing that helps me in my current position.

What was the most useful thing you learned in ugrad that helped you get where you are now? That a lot of people will just sit back and expect other people to do something and they will want to partake in that person's success. People need to learn to contribute if they want to take.
